Since the 27th of June, 2016, Thailand has strongly regulated the entry requirements for tourist vehicles, and an entry is permitted only for vehicles less than 3.5 tonnes, which, however, have to use the same border for entry as well as for the departure, so that a passage to Malaysia is no longer possible.

Passengers with their own vehicle who wish to travel from the region of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia are advised to ship from Cambodia. While there are still no roll on / roll off connections, there are quite favorable container shipments.

Motorhomes or expedition vehicles which do not fit into a container due to their size, can be loaded onto flat racks. A shipment from the port of Sihanoukville in Cambodia to Dubai is very popular because it is inexpensive and safe.

From the United Arab Emirates, the journey can be continued through Iran to Europe with a detour through the beautiful Oman. But also direct transport of motor homes, campers, caravans and cars to the USA / Canada, Europe and other Asian destinations are possible from Cambodia.
